Aus einer spontanen Laune heraus habe ich mich entschieden
noch einen neuen Spencer für Weimar zu nähen. Dieser sollte natürlich passend
zu meinem Chemisenkleid 1797 sein. Die Idee dafür hatte ich schon im letzten
Jahr, aber da fehlte mir schlichtweg die Zeit. Nun habe ich meinen restlichen
Seidentaft hervorgekramt und dieses Projekt in Angriff genommen.
From a
spontaneous mood I have decided still to sew new Spencer for Weimar. This
should be of course suitably to my Chemisdress 1797. For it I had the idea
already last year, but there I lacked absolutely the time. Now I have tackled
this project and request my remaining silk taffeta.
Die Frage nach einem passenden Modell fiel eigentlich nicht
schwer, im Internet findet man zwei gute Vorlagen für einen solchen Spencer.
The
question after a suitable model was not really difficult, on the Internet I
found two good models for a such Spencer.
Da natürlich noch ein wenig Individualität mitspielen soll,
habe ich mich für eine kleine „Mischung“ der beiden entschieden. Das
Grundmodell entspricht dem von Abbildung zwei, nur das ich zusätzlich aus
Modell eins die Knöpfe vom Rückenteil übernehme. Und weil der Spencer auf
Abbildung zwei einen sehr hübsch besticktes Rückenteil hat, hab ich mich
entschlossen dazu auch noch bestickte Knöpfe anzufertigen.
Because of
course still a little individuality should join in, I have decided on a small
"mixture" of the both. The basic model corresponds to that of
illustration two, only I take over the buttons from model one in the back part.
And because the Spencer on illustration two has a very nicely embroidered back
part, I have resolved in addition to make still embroidered buttons.
Dazu habe ich ein Reststück vom Seidentaft in einen
Stickrahmen gespannt. Als Basis dienen mir weiße Leinenwäscheknöpfe die ich
später mit dem fertig gestickten Stoffstück überziehen werde, außerdem dienen
sie zuallererst als Schablonen für die eigentliche zu bestickende Fläche. Ich
zog also jeweils vier Kreise um einen Knopf auf den Seidentaft, ein wenig
Abstand zum nächsten sollte man beachten.
Als nächstes folgte das Motiv aufzeichnen, hier eine
einfache Schlaufen-Kreislinie.
Zum Sticken habe ich goldenes Metallgarn verwendet, das
innere Motiv wurde mit Rückstichen gestickt und der Außenkreis mit Schlaufenstichen.

Der fertig bestickte Stoff wird nun aus dem Stickrahmen
genommen und in vier gleichgroße Stoffstücke zerteilt. Etwa einen Zentimeter um
das gestickte Motiv wird nun im Heftstich ein Kreis gezogen.
Now the
ready embroidered material is taken from the embroidery frame and is divided
into four material pieces equal in size. Now about 1 centimetre around the
embroidered motive a circle is pulled in the tack.
Den zu überziehenden Knopf legt man nun auf die linke Seite
des Stoffstückes und zieht am Ende des Fadens, so dass sich nun der Stoff um
den Knopf formt.
One lays

the end of the thread, so that now the material forms around the button.
Nun wird ein Faden ein paar mal um das zusammengezogene
Stoffstück am Unterteil des Knopfes gedreht, die überstehenden Ecken abgeschnitten
und mit Nadel und Faden verstochen.
Now a
thread is turned a few times around the pulled together material piece the drag
of the button, the surviving corners are cut off and with needle and thread
sewing the end.
Das tat ich mit allen vieren so und schon war ich fertig!
Vier hübsche bestickte Knöpfe für den zukünftigen Spencer.
I did this
with all four thus and already I was ready! Four pretty embroidered buttons for
the future Spencer.
