Resteverwertung

Dieses Jahr in Fulda habe ich leider die Erfahrung gemacht, dass die Abende im August auch schon sehr frisch sein können. Ich hatte keinen Umhang dabei und war auf die Almosen meiner Zimmernachbarin angewiesen, die mich freundlicherweise jeden Abend mit unter ihren Umhang genommen hat. Gut das Nehelenia direkt vor ort waren und ich mir noch ein neues Schnittmuster zulegen konnte.

I have made this year in Fulda, unfortunately, the experience that the evenings can be already very fresh in August. Besides, I had no cape and depended on the alms of my room neighbour who has taken me kindly every evening with under her cape. Well the Nehelenia were directly before place and I could still get a new cut pattern.

Ein Mantelet musste her, und am besten noch bevor die neue Freiluftsaison beginnt. Kurz kramte ich in meiner Stoffkiste und fand noch einen schönen Wollstoff, diesen hatte ich schon für den Spencer 1811 verwendet und es war noch genügend übrig für ein Mantelet.

Auch von dem Webpelz war noch genügend übrig um dem Kurzmantel noch das gewisse Etwas zu verleihen. Die Kapuze habe ich mit weißem Seidentaft gefüttert, dadurch wirkt das Kleidungsstück noch etwas edler.

A Mantelet had to go here, and best of all even before the new open-air season begins. Briefly I rummaged about in my material box and found still a nice woollen, I had used this already for the Spencer 1811 and the rest it still was enough, for a Mantelet.

Also something was to be lent by the web fur still, for the rest enough, around the short coat still certain. I have fed the hood on white silk taffeta, the garment thereby looks a little bit nobler.

So nun bin ich gewappnet! So now I am armed!

Und hier gibt es einen kleinen Blick auf mein Großprojekt Dachbodenkammer. Mittlerweile sind alle Wände verputzt, die Dielen sind abgeschliffen und gereinigt, die Risse in der Decke sind verspachtelt und geschliffen und die Esse ist mit einem Kunstharz lackiert, um das durchdringen von Wasserflecken zu verhindern. Als nächstes werden die Dielen neu verfugt, dann geht es ans streichen der Wände und das Versiegeln der Dielen.

And here there is a small look at my large-scale project attic chamber. Meanwhile all walls are plastered which are polished planking and are cleaned, the tears in the cover are filled in and sharpened and the eating is varnished with a synthetic resin, around this penetrate from water stains to prevent. As the next the floorboards become anew verfugt, then it goes in glide of the walls and sealing the floorboards.

Union Jack Tasche

Die Folgende Tasche ist ein Geburtstagsgeschenk für eine gute Freundin. Sie hatte ich eine Tasche gewünscht, nur hatte sie nicht damit gerechnet, das ich ihr eine nähen würde. Sie ist ein großer Großbritannien Fan und so war für mich von Anfang an klar, der Stoff musste die Flagge von Großbritannien haben. Dieses Jahr war es gar nicht so schwer den passenden Stoff zu finden, durch die Olympischen Spiele gab es überall genügend Auswahl und so bestellte ich 1,5m Jacquard, außerdem benötigte ich noch eine feste Einlage, eine etwas weniger feste Vliesseinlage, und Stoff für die Innenfächer, dazu habe ich einen Leinenstoff verwendet. Das Schnittmuster hab ich aus dem Buch:

Mit Zuschnitt hab ich ungefähr 20 Stunden benötigt um die Tasche fertig zu stellen, als kleines Highlight habe ich noch von neuen etwas fehlgekauften Sandalen die Riemen abgeschnitten und diese als Verzierung für die Träger an die Tasche angebracht.

Gestern hatte ich nun das Vergnügen ihr die Tasche zu überreichen. Ihr Gesicht hat Bände gesprochen und ich war sehr froh, dass ich ihren Geschmack getroffen hatte.

The following bag is a birthday present for a good friend. She’d wishing a bag, only it had not counted on the fact which I would sew to her one. It is big Great Britain fan and thus was clear for me from the outset, the material had to have the flag of Great Britain. This year it was not to be found at all so hard the suitable material, everywhere by the Olympic games there was enough choice and thus I ordered 1.5 m Jacquard, moreover, I still needed a firm insert, a little bit less firm fleece insert, and in addition I have used material for the inside fields, a linen material.

With cutting I have needed about 20 hours to finish the bag, as a small highlight I have still cut off from new a little bit false-bought sandals the straps and have attached this as a decoration for the straps to the bag.

Yesterday now I had to hand the pleasure to her the bag. Her face has spoken volumes and I was very glad that I had met her taste.

Völkerschlacht 1813 - 20.10.12

Auch dieses Jahr machten wir uns wieder auf Richtung Leipzig. Wir hätten es nicht besser treffen können, herrliches Wetter mit Temperaturen um die 24°C und das mitten im Oktober. Was für ein Saisonabschluss!

Als ersten besuchten wir Liebertwolkwitz, welches sich wieder in das Jahr 1813 zurückversetzte und mit allerlei handwerklichen und kulinarischen Spezialitäten aufwartete. Auch dieses Jahr besuchten wir wieder die Verkaufsausstellung von Andrea Thadewald, die dieses Mal gegenüber des Rathauses einquartiert war.

Also this year we came along again on in the direction of Leipzig. We could not have met it better, marvellous weather with temperatures about 24°C and in the middle of October. What a seasonal end!

As first we visited Liebertwolkwitz which imagined itself again in 1813 and served all kinds of craft and culinary specialities. Also this year we visited again the sales exhibition of Andrea Thadewald who was quartered this time towards of the town hall.

 

  Danach fuhren wir zum agra Gelände wo die Schlacht vom 16. Oktober 1813 nachgestellt wurde. Leider mussten wir dort den teuren Eintritt von 9€ zahlen, obwohl wir in Gewandung waren. Nicht einmal einen ermäßigten Eintritt gab es! Und was gab’s zu sehen? Das Schlachtfeld war so groß, das man niemals alles überblicken konnte, außerdem haben wir lange nach einem Stehplatz gesucht, wo wir überhaupt was gesehen haben, und das war am hinteren Rand. Enthalten war auch der Eintritt zum Torhaus und Schloss, nur leider waren da nur zwei Zimmer zu sehen mit alten Säbeln und Munition aus der Zeit. Ich hatte mir leider davon etwas mehr versprochen!

Then we drove to the agra area, where the battle from the 16th of October 1813 was adjusted. Unfortunately, we had to pay there the expensive entry of 9€, although we were in historical clothes. There not even was a reduced entry! And what are to see? The battlefield was so big which one could never overlook everything, moreover, we have looked long for a standing place where we have seen generally what, and this was in the back edge. The entry was also included to the gate house and castle, unfortunately, only two rooms were to be seen there with old sabers and ammunition from the time. I had made a slip of it a little bit more!

 

 

 Leider ist auch mein grünes Tageskleid noch nicht ganz fertig geworden. Die Verzierung an den Ärmeln und am Rocksaum fehlt noch. Deshalb musste ich es als Rohling tragen. Aber ich werde in der nächsten Zeit das Zierrat noch nachholen und euch auch Fotos nicht vorenthalten!

Unfortunately, my green day dress has also not completely finished yet. The decoration in the sleeves and in the skirt hemline is still absent. Therefore, I had to carry it as a ruffian. But I will still make up for the decoration in the next time and not keep you also photos!

Noch ein Schmankerl!

Gestern führten mich meine Wege in eine Antikscheune in der Nähe von Königstein. Eigentlich wollte ich mich nur mal umsehen, und natürlich sind die tollen alten Möbel, die in jeder Ecke stehen ein Augenschmaus. Aber dann entdeckte ich einen Schrank voll alter Kleidungsstücke, sie waren nicht geordnet und lagen zum teil lose auf dem Schrankboden. Die Scheune war in diesem Teil sehr dunkel, da sich kein Fenster in der Ecke befand, doch ich sah noch so viel, als das mir etwas grünes entgegenleuchtete. Als ich es heraus zog, entpupte es sich als ein Jäckchen aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, sofort war ich Feuer und Flamme. In dem diffusen Licht konnte ich auf Anhieb erkennen, das dieses Jäckchen handgenäht war, wunderbar! Ich suchte mir eine etwas hellere Ecke in dem riesigen Raum und untersuchte die Jacke etwas. Sie war wattiert, das Innenfutter aus Leinen und der Oberstoff aus changiertem Seidentaft. Jetzt war es nur noch eine preisliche Frage, ob es den Weg in meine Stube finden würde. An der Kasse traute ich mich fast gar nicht zu fragen, aber sie sah es sich an und meinte wenn ich ihr 18€ gäbe wäre das ok. Aber hallo!! Bezahlt und ab nach Hause!

 Yesterday I led my way into an antique barn near Königstein.  Actually, I wanted to look around just, and of course are the great old pieces of furniture, they in every corner stand a feast for the eyes. But then I found a wardrobe of fully old clothes, they were not ordered and lay to share loose on the cupboard ground. The barn was very dark in this part, because no window was in the corner, however, I still saw myself so much, as which a little bit green against shone. When I pulled it out,  it was a little jacket from the 19th century, immediately I was on fire. In the vague light I could see right away which was this little jacket hand-sewed wonderfully! I searched a little brighter corner while gigantic space for myself and examined the jacket something. It was padded, the inside feed from linen and the colonel's out of vision from iridesced silk taffeta. Now it was only a question in price whether it found the way in my room. In the checkout I did not trust m I st not at all to ask, but she had a look at it and meant if I her 18€ would give this would be OK. But, hello!! Pays and from home!

Ich muss zugeben die zeitliche Einordnung fällt mir doch ein wenig schwer, als ich die Jacke sah, dachte ich sofort an die 80ger des 19. Jahrhunderts, aber die Jacke scheint mir nicht lang genug, vielleicht hat jemand von euch noch einen zündenden Gedanken? Da wäre ich sehr Dankbar dafür!

I must admit, nevertheless, the temporal classification is difficult for me a little when I saw the jacket, I thought immediately of 80ger of the 19th century, but the jacket seems to me not long enough, maybe somebody has of you still a catching fire thought? There I would be Very thankfully for it!

 

Die Arme der Jacke habe ich zu Anschauungszwecken ausgestopft.

In diesem Bild kann man gut die Changierung des Stoffes erkennen.

Natürlich haben die Jahre aus Spuren an der Jacke gelassen, so hat sie mehrere geflickte Stellen und zwei Risse im Stoff, der eine ist im Rücken und der andere vorn neben der Borde, dort kann man aber gut die blauen Kettfäden und den grünen Schussfaden erkennen.

Of course the years leave tracks  in the jacket, it has several repaired places and two tears in the material, one is in the back and other in front beside the boards, however, there one can well see the blue chains hread and the green shot thread.

 

Geschlossen wird die Jacke mit Ösen und Haken, außerdem ist am Halssaum, in Frontbereich und an den Ärmelbündchen eine zarte Klöppelspitze angebracht.

The jacket with hooks and eyes is closed, moreover, a tender pillow lace is appropriated in the cervical hemline, in front area and in the sleeve cuffs.

 

Ja und dann hab ich auch noch ein paar lange Handschuhe aus dunkelblauer Nadelspitze mitgenommen.

Und zu guter letzt gibt es hier noch einen kurzen Blick auf mein aktuelles Projekt. Ich habe mich kurzfristig noch mal umentschieden, und so kurz vor Leipzig noch ein grünes Tageskleid begonnen! Ich hoffe ich werde noch rechtzeitig fertig!

And here to good one last there is still a short look at my actual project. At short notice I have changed my mind, and thus shortly before Leipzig still a green day dress begun! I hope I still finish on time!

Regency Tageskleid

Hallo zusammen!

Ja ich hab lange nichts mehr vorzuweisen gehabt, das lag vor allem daran, dass ich unter anderem noch mit der Renovierung einer Dachbodenkammer beschäftigt bin. Da ich dort alles allein mache, brauche ich natürlich mehr Zeit, als ein Handwerker. Das besondere an der Dachbodenkammer ist, das sie noch alte Lehmwände aus dem 19. Jahrhundert besitzt, welche ich natürlich erhalten möchte. Nur der darrüberliegende Sandputz musste ab, teilweise fiel dieser schon von allein. Nun hab ich die nackte Wand vor mir und in den nächsten Wochen bringe ich auf diese Lehmwände noch einen neuen Lehmputz auf, muss die Dielen noch aufarbeiten, die drei alten Schränke streichen und natürlich am Ende auch alles wieder einräumen. Dann werde ich euch auch ein paar Fotos posten!

Yes I have long had nothing to show more, mainly because I'm busy with other things still to renovate an attic. Since I'm there all alone, I need much more time, as a craftsman. The special feature of the attic chamber, they have an old adobe walls from the 19th Century, which I would like to receive course. Only the overlying sand roughcast had off, some of this was already alone off. Now I have the blank walls and in the next few weeks I will bring this to a new loam clay walls, the floors still worked up, highlight the three old wardrobes, and of course in the end, give everything back. Then I will post some pics!

Nun aber zu meinem Nähprojekt. Ein blaues Tageskleid, diesmal ohne Ärmel. Die Bluse für drunter habe ich allerdings noch nicht fertig, deshalb ist auf den Bildern eine Chemiese zu sehen. Ich habe 3m Baumwollstoff verwendet, den Halssaum und ein Teil des Randes am Oberteil habe ich verpaspelt, was eine ganz neue Erfahrung war, und was gut zu dem Kleid passt. Die Knöpfe sind aus meiner sehr großen Knopfkiste, die nach jedem Flohmarktbesuch kontinuierlich erweitert wird. Geschlossen wird das Kleid im Frontbereich mit Haken und Ösen.

But now to my sewing project. A blue day dress, this time without sleeves. The blouse for underneath but I have not finished yet, so you can see on the images a Chemiese. I used 3m cotton fabric, the neck hem and part of the rim at the top, I piping, which was a whole new experience, and what fits in well with the dress. The buttons are from my very large button box which is continuously expanded to every flea market. Closed is the dress in the front with hooks and eyes.

 

Meine Vorlage für das Kleid bildete das blaue Kleid aus dem Film „Miss Austen Regrets“, welches Jane Austen trägt. Ich mag dieses blau und die Tatsache, das es ein herrliches Sommerkleid ist, vor allem für warme Tage.

My submission for the dress was the blue dress from the film "Miss Austen Regrets", which carries Jane Austen. I like this blue and the fact that it is a beautiful summer dress, especially for warm days.

Das nächste Projekt heißt erst mal Regency Kurzdress. Dazu habe ich einen tollen Tildastoff gekauft und die passende Vorlage im Buch „Costume in Detail“. Das Kurzdress kann man dann auch wunderbar zu dem blauen Tageskleid tragen. Danach folgt dann die Bluse für das blaue Tageskleid.

The next project is called only once Regency Short Dress. In addition I have bought a great Tildafabric and the right template in the book "Costume in Detail". The Short Dress can be also wonderful to wear the blue day dress. Then followed the blouse for the blue day dress.

 

Ja und meine schöne neue englische Rose „Lordly Oberon“, hat sich sichtlich gut bei mir eingelebt. Sie hat viele Blüten bekommen und ihr Duft ist einfach phantastisch!

Yes, and my beautiful new English Rose "Lordly Oberon", has obviously been doing well for me. She got a lot of flowers and their fragrance is fantastic!
